Examined Life

My senior highschool friend, Muhammad Priambodho wrote on his Facebook Wall this morning,

''Even if you do things the right way, some would still be unsatisfied. Some will not appreciate what you say and what you do, and there would always be people who would let you down, too, but for as long as you speak honestly from the heart, you'll be fine. This is not a perfect world, not even a perfect life. Life is almost always unfair, but life loves the person who dares to live it."

I think everyone has experience heartache like my friend. You almost do everything you do in a 'perfect way' to make everyone satisfied...but there is always be someone /person unsatisfied. And that (only) person unsatisfied make you feel bad/pain since he or she never ever want to understand the reason of you did. And no one would help you in this situation, cause people tend to abandon you at any sign of trouble..especially in this case.

Yeah...this is life..honestly EXAMINED LIFE...and there is always case like this in your circle life. I think it's good to read a book in order to treat our feeling and to seek the truth. Ok, this morning I just read David Richo's book 5 Things We Cannot Change : And The Happiness We Find by Embracing Them. He writes a very lucid and thought-provoking book which tells us:
  1. Everything changes and ends.
  2. Life is not always fair.
  3. Things do not always go according to plan.
  4. Pain is a part of life.
  5. People are not loving and loyal all the time.
So if we recognize these realities and stop resisting them we can open our lives "to discover our greatest gifts." Includes practical exercises.
